Parliamentary Secretary MoE&PT Wajeeha Qamar emphasized that Corona period was the most challenging for education. Corona will continue and we have to live with the threat posed by the virus and have to adapt to it accordingly. While addressing Hygiene Kits Distribution Ceremony at IMSB and IMSG (Evening Shift) she admired the efforts of DG FDE Malik Ikram as he is instrumental in bringing change, most longed for, in educational institutions working under the ambit of FDE. Initially it was suffocating to use mask and now we are getting used to it and its now a routine to wear mask. The Government of Pakistan closed all schools as part of a nationwide lockdown, prompting the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFE&PT) to seek educational alternatives to ensure learning continuity in the form of launching Teleschool Channel. The required teachers’ training was conducted in collaboration with Federal Directorate of Education accordingly. As the corona virus stretched, shelter houses were visited to monitor how SOPs are being followed. A number of educational plans were launched including adoption of online mode. Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic many challenges including closure of educational institutions were faced seeking alternative solutions to the globally adopted suspending classes without stopping learning. The Government of Pakistan has taken different initiatives like complete and smart lockdown to control the pandemic as much as possible which reduced the spread but ultimately we have to get used to it by observing corona SOPs as part of our lives. On this occasion,DG FDE, Dr Ikram Malik distributed Corona Hygiene Kits among students. The ceremony was also graced by Director Academics Ms Saadia Adnaan, Director Monitoring Malik Sohail, Area Education Officer Sohail Khan and other officials.
