Director Agriculture, along with Lok Sanjh Foundation, held a meeting with DG FDE and its team and presented details of a project regarding setting up of ‘Model Agriculture Farms’ at FDE schools; the project will be a joint effort of ICT Agriculture Directorate, DG FDE and Lok Sanjh Foundation. Initially a pilot will be run in 6 boys/girls schools of F-7, G-6, G-7 and G-9 sectors. Under the project, model agriculture farms will be set-up at 10-Marla plots of schools in order to orientate children with vegetable and fruits growing techniques. Seeds and Agri tools will also be freely distributed among children for replication of their learning at home. Eco clubs will be established; plantation and gardening in schools will be improved. Project will go a long way in promotion of kitchen gardening and urban farming among fertile minds of our future generation.
Federal Directorate of Education signs Letter of Agreement with Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education – Federal Ministry of Education & Professional Training on 31st of December, 2020. A signing ceremony was held at the Federal Ministry of Education & Professional Training to sign an agreement to continue the partnership between Federal Directorate for Education – FDE and the Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education – PAGE for multiple interventions to promote Girls Education, Girls leadership and careers in the ICT schools through Star Schools and Aim High programs.
Director General, FDE, Prof Dr. Ikram Ali met recently retired employees of Federal Directorate of Education and its allied institution in Committee Room of FDE HQ for distribution of their pension cases completed by Director Pension and Package and his team in all respects. On the occasion, DG, FDE, desired that the pension cases MUST be completed and payment cheques be awarded to retiring employees on the last day of their service to honour the period served with the department.
Director General, also inaugurated the web application https://pensions.fde.gov.pk for tracking the status of pension cases developed and coordinated by FDE, IT section.
Academic Management During Home Based Learning Period To Counteract Covid-19 Spread in Education Institutions Under Federal Directorate of Education Islamabad.
Islamabad Model School for Girls Athal has been renovated and refurbished in Collaboration with Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education – PAGE and Alight Pakistan. The school now has a new Library set up to promote literacy and reading. A new computer lab will provide opportunity for girls to learn IT skills. A colorful fully resourced activity room has been set up for younger students.
Other new additions include benches for students to sit in the play area during the break, school entrance fully tiled, back area cleared and space created for outdoor activities. A new handwashing facility at the entrance for students to wash hands before entering the school and a guard room for the guard has also been added.
Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education has provided training to the teachers of the school and are currently planning a yearlong training plan for the teachers of the school.
Academic Planning During Closure Of Institutions w.e.f. 26th November 2020 In Educational Institutions Under FDE Islamabad
Special signing ceremony of Letter of Understanding (LoU) between Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and Pivotal Education Group & Team up held on Wednesday in Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Islamabad.
The ceremony was observed by Parliamentary Secretary Wajiha Akram , Federal Secretary Farah Hamid Khan, Additional Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani, The CEO Pivotal Education Group Mrs. Nayyar Mahmood Khan and Managing Director Mr. Pervez Abbasi .
LoU is aimed to transform the educational landscape in Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) schools and collages through building of capacity of teachers and school leaders in a dedicated, state of the art facility based on the design of the National Incubation Centre, H-9, Islamabad .
The implementation of a professional learning calendar will be followed by hands-on and rigorous support back in schools and classrooms, by international trained education consultants.
It will also define the scope for creating a world class learning facility for students to include but not limited to a STEAM learning space and a nature zone. A capacity building plan will be prepared in accordance with FDE policies and best international practices and certificates for completion of professional learning will be awarded with joint signatures of FDE and Pivotal & Team up.
Pivotal Education will provide expert professional learning partners to equip FDE staff with international standard pedagogical and leadership skills and establish centralized resource libraries that will make up-to-date teaching and learning materials available for use in FDE schools.
The project will benefit schools of FDE education zones Urban 1, Urban 2, Bara Kahu, Tarnol, Sihala, Nilore in becoming centres of learning according to international best practices. It also supports the FDE in capacity building of its staff in acquiring international standard, pedagogical and leadership skills. The LoU will continue for a period of three years and shall be extended for a further tern upon mutual written consent of all the parties.
