1967: Federal Directorate of Education was established as attached department of M/O Education with 24 Educational Institutions. 1974: 153 Institutions were transferred from Government of Punjab. 1993: 20 Model Colleges (I to XII) were given under the control of FDE. 2011: After 18th amendment of FDE transferred to CADD and than M/o FE&PT At Present: 422 institutions are under FDE.
